On MacleanNet, cousins worldwide meet daily for a wee blether. It's their custom, on joining to post a brief biog note. Here's an example:

Rhona and Alasdair
Hello, my name is Rhona McLean and I'm a newbie to the MacleanNet. I live on a 5 acre "smallfarm" north west of Auckland in New Zealand. I'm thirtysomething and live with my parents Kay and Ian McLean and my son Alasdair.

My parents are from North East Scotland, Mum from Turriff and Dad from Aberdeen. They have been in NZ for 36 years. My older sister Catriona arrived shortly after they did and was the first kiwi of the family. I also have a younger sister Fiona.

Both my parents were teachers before retiring and through their various career moves we have lived in many parts of NZ and I've seen our country rather more than the average kiwi.

My interests range from gardening to animals, cooking, middle eastern dancing (I'm in a professional dance troupe) and barbershop singing (Sweet Adelines) and more recently I've developed an interest in genealogy, particularly my father's side of the family as Mum is well into covering her side.

I have a BSc in Geography and until my recent maternity break I worked the last 10 years or so as an office manager.

We keep on our farm a few sheep, a cattle beast, ducks, chickens, turkeys, 3 cats, a dog, a horse and a couple of ponies. Its spring here and we're having a wee population explosion which is keeping me busy.

Well that's enough of an introduction - I look forward to getting to know you all.
Ta ta the noo - Rhona McLean
