  	MELANCHOLY OCCURRENCE Dr. Alexander MacLeod, surgeon, Ostaig parish of Sleat, Skye, had been lately on a visit at Knoydart and missing his way, during the darkness of the night, fell over a precipice 150 feet high, and was in all probability instantaneously killed. He had been recently appointed medical officer for the parish of Glenelg and was visiting the poor when he met with his death.
