• Notes

  3rd Laird of Coll In 1539 he submitted a petion to the Privy Council, in which he states that his predecessors had peaceably enjoyed the lands of Lochiel for forty years, and that his father was killed while living in these lands. After his death Ewen Mac Allan took possesion of them unjustly. The Privy Council appointed a commission. Ewen Mac Allan retained possesion of the lands of Lochiel. He had his lands conveyed to his son John, in Sep 1542.
